Terms of Use
In short: delexif is a free tool provided as is. The tool processes your images locally and they remain yours, you should check the result before relying on it, and you agree not to misuse the site.
Agreement
These terms apply to delexif.app and its pages, including the guides. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
The service
delexif is a free web tool that shows and removes metadata (such as EXIF, IPTC, XMP and GPS data) from JPEG, PNG, WebP and HEIC images. The processing happens in your browser. The site may be changed, improved, interrupted or discontinued at any time, in whole or in part, without notice.
Your content
The images you load are processed on your device and are never sent to the operator of this site. We do not store them, see them or claim any rights over them. You are responsible for having the right to use the images you process and for what you do with the result.
No warranty
delexif is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. In particular:
- The tool removes the metadata blocks it recognizes, but image formats allow data in places no tool can anticipate. The verification after cleaning checks location, device, capture and authorship data; it is not a guarantee that a file contains no other information.
- Some formats cannot be inspected in the browser, in which case the tool says the result was not verified.
- Redraw re-encodes the image, which can change its quality, size and colors. Lossless keeps the picture intact, but a photo that relied on its orientation tag can appear rotated.
- Nothing the tool does removes information that is visible in the picture itself.
Review the clean file before you rely on it for anything sensitive.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the site, including loss of data or the disclosure of information that remained in a file. delexif never modifies your originals, but keep your own copies.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- interfere with the site’s operation or security, or attempt to access it in ways other than through its public pages;
- send automated requests in volumes that burden the server;
- generate artificial traffic or ad clicks, or encourage others to do so;
- use the site for any unlawful purpose.
Third-party services
Google AdSense is configured for the home page and individual guides, but advertising is currently disabled pending consent verification. Any later ad display also depends on Google’s site approval, ad availability and applicable consent choices. It measures aggregate visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. If advertising is enabled, Google’s advertising and consent services may use cookies, identifiers and visit data. These third-party services run under their own terms and privacy policies; the Privacy Policy explains their role and the consent controls. Local image processing describes the tool’s code, not isolation from other scripts running on the page. Links to other websites, such as the map link shown for photos with GPS coordinates, are provided for convenience, and their content is the responsibility of their owners.
Intellectual property
The site’s code, design and text, including the guides, belong to the operator. You are welcome to link to any page and to quote short excerpts with a link back to the source. Your images remain yours.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated when the site changes. The date at the top shows the latest revision, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Operator
delexif is operated by Claudio Cárdenas. Questions about these terms can be sent to contact@claudiocardenas.dev, and more about the site is on the About page.
